2010 Adelaide Hills Pinot Gris is sourced from cool climate Adelaide Hills fruit.

This is our first foray into making Pinot Gris.

So for clarity of style, the French call it Pinot Gris, The Italians call it Pinot Grigio.

Gris and Grigio are the respective French and Italian words for grey, the colour of the fruit. The French grow Pinot Gris in Alsace, where it produces wines that offer very full palates, with more complexity and some residual sugar. Pinot Grigio is often lighter and crisper in style.

This wine shows Nashi pears and dried apples on the nose. The pallet is complex and structured from the extended lees contact and a small parcel of wine rested French Oak. This wine will drink well whilst young and will develop in the bottle with age for 2-3 years.

A lightly oaked style displaying fresh varietal character.
