2008 GISA ROUND BAROSSA VALLEY SHIRAZ

GISA wines are contemporary, high quality wines that are sourced from premium south Australian wine growing regions.

Premium Shiraz Fruit from Greenock , a sub-region, at the north western end of the Barossa Valley has produced a wine that has the hall marks of true Barossa Shiraz with the elegance and intrigue.

The fruit was hand picked and basket pressed, in oppressive conditions, into small open topped fermenters. Kept separate until blending to allow for the correct balance to be struck between components, the final blend is ripe and full flavoured.

The wine was rested in old 2 & 3 year old American Oak for 18 months to impart the typical vanillin profile common in wine from the region.

The resultant wine is a balanced wine with all the traditional cues of a Barossa Shiraz with a hint of intrigue. This wine was sock filtered, to retain intensity, which will mean the wine will develop a harmless crust in the bottle.

True to its roots, it is a ripe, rich, full flavoured Barossa Shiraz from what will prove to be a good vintage.

An attractive wine now with layers of fruits complexity, full and round in the mouth, yet soft approachable tannins and good length.
